Taking into account that our services are broadcast live, and at the same time rebroadcast in Murcia, Spain, as well as in other parts of the world, it is necessary for us to make the following clarification by this means, so that no one is confused and there is no misunderstanding regarding this matter.
On Sunday, April 26, 2015, in our morning worship service, someone who identified himself as Rey Cruz voluntarily came forward to make a confession of faith, claiming to be the brother of Pastor Nicky Cruz and the leader of a dangerous gang in this city of New York. Because this was broadcast live on our channel, it echoed across the different social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) of our many followers. As a result, it quickly went viral and became a trending topic on Twitter, due to this individual’s alleged relationship with Pastor Nicky Cruz, best known for having been the leader of the dangerous New York gang called the Mau Mau, and whose conversion was recorded in the book “The Cross and the Switchblade” by the evangelical pastor David Wilkerson (†), who presented him with the message of salvation in Christ.
We want to clarify that this person’s connection with Pastor Nicky Cruz is entirely false, after the corresponding verification with Pastor Cruz’s office. We regret that some of you have been misled. We do not know the motivation or intention this individual had for acting in this way, and it saddens us that he has lost the opportunity for an authentic conversion, and we pray that God will have mercy on him.
