El Amanecer de la Esperanza – RD · Biblical Doctrines

“This, so that we may no longer be children, tossed adrift and carried about wherever by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men who, in order to deceive, craftily use the schemes of error” Ephesians 4:14

Why do we exist? Why is there evil? What exists after death? How can I be born again? What does God think of man? Does He care about us? What is His plan for our lives? Will the Creator speak to His creatures? What will He tell them? These questions could not be answered simply by contemplating and analyzing the wise and powerful God, the author of the order and balance that is manifested in natural creation.

And so it was that God, in His infinite mercy, instituted a written revelation for man, inspiring the biblical writers and enabling them to record their personal encounters and the events in which He intervened. That same God, “whose understanding no one can reach” (Isaiah 40:28), can be known through the Bible. This Sacred Book, then, is God’s revelation to man. It is in it that we find everything God wants man to know and understand about Him. Although the Bible does not contain all the answers to man’s questions, it does contain everything man needs to know.

The Word of God is an expert at explaining the meaning of life, and the why and wherefore of our existence. Sadly, this revelation has been the object of false interpretations by many, which has upset the faith of some (2 Timothy 2:16) and caused division, thereby fracturing the community of believers. But this does not happen because the Bible itself contradicts itself, since there are no thematic contradictions in the Bible. In fact, in the essential themes of the Scriptures (salvation, sin, the divine nature, etc.) there are neither contradictions nor confusion. These distortions, however, have been born of the hardness of the human heart, in its attempt to fit God to its own precepts.

It is proud man who abandons the written revelation and takes the boastful initiative to “discover” God on his own. This has generated diverse doctrines, which have been the foundation for different cults and sects, some based on “personal revelations,” others on “commandments and doctrines of men” (Colossians 2:22), turning men away from the unchanging God who reveals Himself in the Holy Scriptures, as Jesus rightly said: “You well nullify the commandment of God in order to keep your traditions” (Mark 7:9), that is, their own superstitions and ravings.

Therefore, it is vital for any spiritually healthy Christian to persevere and remain in the Word of God. The Bible, and it alone, is the solid foundation that the believer finds when the hurricane winds of error blow. For this reason we have developed this space, which contains the essential matters of the Christian faith and summarizes our confession of faith. We have designed these studies in the form of questions and answers, the latter relying solely and exclusively on what the Word says, since the Bible answers itself, confirms itself and proves itself.

Beloved brother, we commend you to God and to the study of the Word of His grace, and may He give you understanding in all things. Print them, study them, and share them!
